As you may know, my birthday was just a couple of weeks ago. I usually splurge a little on myself, because hey! its my day! lol. I had been lusting for some Charlotte Tilbury items and decided that this would be the perfect time to *finally* try out some stuff I’d been wanting since her line launched – and to pick up some new items I was interested in.
The very first item I’d been wanting since her line launched was the Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita. I had heard countless times how this palette was perfect for the fall and winter seasons, however, I never bit the bullet. On my birthday I decided to pick it up. It comes with 4 different shades: 3 satins and 1 glitter. The satin shades are very pigmented and easy to blend. The colors scream fall! The one glitter shade was actually way better than I anticipated. Different brands tend to do glitter shades very differently but this one was actually really opaque and I feel that you can use it on its own without needing a shade underneath it. I am very happy with this palette and will have traveled with it.
The second item I had been wanting for a while was her cream shadow. I took some time looking at each of them before finally deciding on Bette. This cream shadow is a beautiful gold that paired perfectly with the dolce vita. I know that I’ll be using this cream shadow with a lot of other palettes so it seemed fitting that I would choose a beautiful, warm toned shade. I had absolutely no problems applying it with my finger and it lasted HOURS. I am so happy with this product!
The next two items are newer to her beauty line and I really wanted to try them out: The Contour Wand was something I had seen several on youtube try and I loved the result each of these people got. I went with the shade Medium/Dark which went perfectly with my skin tone. When I tell you that this shade was SO easy to use I absolutely mean it! I used an E.l.f. stipple brush and it was probably the easiest cream contour I’ve ever had to blend out. It is seriously foolproof.
The Highlight wand comes in one shade and I was a little unsure of whether it would work on me + I was unsure that it would be something that would show up (I was hoping it wasn’t a subtle highlight). Applying it was easy. I used my real techniques beauty sponge to blend out the color on my cheekbones and cupid’s bow. The color actually surprised me in that it is completely opaque. I think this is great to use when you want a no-fuss makeup look.
These were the items I decided to splurge on for my birthday. I was so happy with the result of these items. I used them the night of my birthday and I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. So much so, that I am taking them with me on my Thanksgiving holiday to Houston. I made a YouTube video getting ready using these makeup items. I do have trouble with the clarity and I really do not know how the people on YouTube do it to make the colors show up so beautifully, but I tried my best!
Do you have any of these makeup items? How do you feel about them? For me, its a complete win. I’m not exactly sure I would pick up any of the other palettes since I am completely happy with this one, but if she does release any others I will surely take a look! I am also interested in other shades of her Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadows, but for now, Bette is making me completely happy. Have a great day!
