November 2017 Beauty & Skincare Favorites!

I cannot believe the month of November has come to a close. It makes sense that the month would pass by fast for me: I had my birthday just two weeks into the month, then I traveled the third week to spend the holiday with family. Then the beginning of the last week of November was busy trying to get the best deals I can since I literally get every single family member of mine a gift (y’all, thats about 25+ people). I’m happy to report that Black Friday and Cyber Monday really helped me cover almost everyone on my list.

Anyway, I spent the month of November pulling out older items from my stash in addition to using new items each week. I took to Insta Story to talk about how I felt about the items I was using, if there were any I wasn’t happy with, then showing the new items I had pulled out for the following week.

I was surprised that these Insta Stories have been the most viewed stories I have. Thousands tuned in each week for these short videos in particular, and for that I am really thankful. I am also happy that Instagram integrated that feature because it lets us connect with others quickly without having to rely on only photos and/or having to make videos and editing them (youtube).

The first items I want to mention in my favorites are skincare items. The first item I have been loving this month has been a sample size of the Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycol Night Serum, which has lasted me the whole month. I love that my skin feels so soft and smooth in the morning. Another thing I like about it is that when I wake up, my skin hasn’t been as oily as before, where I would wake up to severely oily skin. I wish it wasn’t so dang expensive! However knowing the sample has lasted me weeks, I might just invest in that. Another item that I loved this month but probably won’t repurchase is the Fresh Creme Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask. I absolutely love the scent of it, and it really helps to bring back the softness and hydration into my skin when I’ve had an extra rough day such as lack of sleep, exercise, etc. The reason I won’t repurchase this is because its a whopping $150! After I found out the price I stopped using it consistently and have been trying to use it now once a week or so. I liked it but the price is so steep. I will continue to look for masks at a better price point.

I really enjoyed using my Viseart Golden Hour eyeshadow palette this month. I posted my thoughts and review on this palette that you can check out here, however, I have been using it more than I let on. The palette as a whole is just wonderful. It has colors I feel can be wearable and transitioned into a night look. The shimmers are beautiful and I know that the mattes are great. All in all, a wonderful palette. My favorite eyeliner this month has been my Chanel Style Yeux in Espresso. It’s the perfect brown shade to use during the day and to smoke out a look. Ive almost run out and will repurchase since its one of 2/3 formulas that actually stays on my waterline. I’ve also enjoyed using my Chanel Joues Contraste blush in Burnt Coral, a color that fits well with my skin tone and can go with most looks I do.

Another two newer items in my collection that I used for half the month but HAVE TO mention are my Dior Precious Rocks quint in Ruby, a gorgeous palette that houses reds and pinks. I wasn’t sure I would be able to use this palette alone, since there aren’t any matte shades, however I was able to make a complete look with it, no problem. I have also been enjoying my Natasha Denona Chroma Crystal Topcoats. I’ve reached for nude the most, however they are all beautiful and I would recommend any shade. The Dior quint was gifted to me by my husband and I picked up the top coats during the sephora sale. I posted a review on them here, if you’d like to check it out.

What have been your favorites this month? I have had other products I’ve enjoyed this month, however I don’t think its fair to include them when I didn’t use them the whole month. 🙂 Anyway, thank you so much for reading!

Till next time…

Denise R.
