2017 Beauty Favorites!

Oh my goodness I cannot believe we are at the end of the year. I wanted to list my beauty favorites – products I truly enjoyed this year. I don’t have a product for every single category simply because nothing may have been a standout, so if you don’t see anything for a certain category, this is why! Without further ado, here are my favorites!

One of my favorite primers this year was hands down the YSL Touché Eclat Blur Primer. It created a soft canvas that allowed foundation to be applied seamlessly. Its pricey so I use it on special occasions but it is beautiful. I included the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in several of my monthly favorites. I love the ease of use (interchanging between applying with a brush/fingers/sponge and the fact that using any method still provided coverage. To set I really enjoyed my Laura Mercier Sheer Perfecting Powder because it gave a beautiful luminous look without looking like a disco ball. I reached for it so many times this year and am currently using it during the colder weather. I really enjoyed my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow when I wasn’t very tan because it was so easy to use and the colors were flattering. During the summer I used the Becca x Chrissy Teigan palette so much because every color complimented my skin tone beautifully! An item that I forgot to photograph but definitely did not forget was my Fenty Beauty Kilawatt Highlight in Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule. I was so obsessed with it for a few months! I still reach for it because it’s truly beautiful.

One of my favorite eyeshadow quads this year was my Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Muse palette. It actually took me a while to use it but when I did (around summer) boy was I in love. The colors are absolutely perfect. Two of my favorite cream shadow releases this year were the Chanel Ombré Premier Eyeshadows and the Natasha Denona Chroma Crystal Topcoats. The Chanel are more like cream shadows while the ND are more for sparkle and to add a pop to the eyelids. I have enjoyed using them both. Two of my favorite eyeliners that I finished and repurchased were the Chanel Stylo Yeux in Espresso and Noir Intense. They are one of the only formulas that stay put. I also loved my YSL The Shock Mascara and the Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara. I think they both provided tons of volume. I really have to thank the Grande Cosmetics MD Lash Serum for the growth my eyelashes experienced the last quarter of the year. It is something I’ll continue to use for a long time!

My favorite lipsticks this year probably won’t come as a surprise since I photograph them almost all the time. The first two lipsticks I adored during the spring and into summer were my Chanel Golden Sand Rouge Coco Shine and my Hourglass Lip Stylo in Futurist. They were both very easy to apply and provided the most beautiful yet pigmented Shine. During the summer my favorite lip products to wear were the Lancôme Matte Shakers. They were easy to apply and didn’t budge. The last two lipsticks (one not pictured) were recently discovered favorites during the last quarter of the year. They included the Revlon Bare Affair lipstick and MAC Jubilee lipstick. Both are nudes that are pigmented and pretty. My favorite lipliner to pair most of these with was MAC Cosmetics Stripdown lipliner. It is truly hands down the best!

Wowza! That was a lot, but I did discover some products this year that I absolutely adored- and some products that I have loved for a few years now. What were your favorites for the year? Let me know!! Thank you for reading!

  1. LOVING the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara – I really didn’t think I’d like it. Sadly I thought I’d love YSL The Shock, and found it messy and flaky 😦
