I am so excited to share this review with you! I didn’t really think to make a blog post on them, but after researching a couple of shades while at Wal-Mart, I realized there were very few posts about them so I decided — why not?!
As per L’Oreal:
“Turn on the color. Switch on the shine. Discover L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick, an ultra-rich, ultra-radiant lipstick with a glossy finish and comfortable wear.”
I must say: I agree with all of the above statements they have made about their lipsticks! I do think that the formula, although being very Glossy, can pack the pigment. I have a few light shades and while swatching once may make you believe that they aren’t too pigmented, if you apply them two or three times on your lips – you will obtain lots of pigment!
In addition, I do agree that they are super comfortable when it comes to wear. The Glossy Formula allows your lips to keep their hydration and they don’t tug at the skin at all when applying. However, I must say that if you’ve got dry patches, this formula will emphasize them, so it’s important to exfoliate your lips beforehand.
Because the Loreal Colour riche shine has a glossy formula, the wear Time is minimal – especially if you’re wearing these out to eat and drink. I’m not saying the color will disappear quickly, but you will need to reapply it. If you’re a lipstick lover, you will just need to see these once to know that the formula is definitely not long lasting, but I wasn’t too worried about it as I prefer hydration sometimes.
I now have 9 different shades that I will swatch here for you all. They are the shades:
My favorite shade of them all is Glossy Fawn. I am a tremendous fan of nude lipsticks and this one is my new favorite nude shade. I love to pair this lipstick with my trusty MAC Stripdown lipliner. This lip combination is every nude lip lover’s dream: especially if you’re of medium skintone. I recommend the combo!
I also wanted to comment on the fact that I have heard all over Instagram that these lipsticks compare to the YSL rouge Volupté range. I can see the resemblance, however to me they also feel like the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks by Chanel.
All 3 lipstick formulas feel very similar in comfort and wear time. I honestly think that if you wanted to, you could easily dupe some of the high end shades for Loreal shades.
For reference I have provided comparison swatches of similar shades between Loreal, YSL, and Chanel. They aren’t exact dupes, but like i said, if you want the look and feel of the Chanel and YSL, but are on a budget or don’t want to pay the hefty price, these Loreal lipsticks are your answer!
Have you tried this formula? What do you think about it? I absolutely love them and recommend them to you! They are currently Buy 2 get 1 free at Ulta.
Thank you so much for reading!
