My New Favorite Summer Lip Product (2017 Post)

I had to make a post dedicated to my new favorite summer lip product. They are the Lancome Matte Shakers! They were released in the Spring of 2017 and have become my favorite liquid lipstick. The reason I dub them my favorite summer lip is because they released a slew of beautiful, bold shades.

As per Lancome:

“A highly pigmented matte liquid lipstick that delivers intense color payoff with a lightweight, second-skin feel.”

“Matte Shaker High Pigment Liquid Lipstick wears comfortably on your lips throughout the day without drying. Its pillow-like cushion applicator allows for precise application—without streaking or smudging. It’s formulated with a patented Ultra Thin Film technology and vitamin E, so that lips feel double the thinness of a liquid lipstick and provides comfortable, non-drying wear.”

I can attest to the fact that the spongy applicator is great and has no problems applying. I didn’t think it would since its “spongy” but its sturdy enough. Also, if you do have dry lips I would suggest using a scrub and balm before hand, because after all, they are matte liquid lipsticks. I have used them and have forgotten to do both mentioned and I was fine, though. And they really do last! I have had some of the colors I’ve worn go into the next day, and believe me when I say that I tried my hardest to take it off. (If you have a good makeup remover, shouldn’t be a problem, though).

I do have to say that you need to be very firm with shaking them before you apply them. When I bought my first two shades, I didn’t understand why others’ shakers had so much more pigment than mine. After shaking my other purchases harder, the pigment came right out and now I have zero problems with all of them.

Swatched L-R (In Artificial Lighting): Magic Orange, Kiss Me Cherie, Energy Peach, Pink Power, Red-y in 5, Yummy Pink, Beige Vintage

I love the color scheme in their initial release and think they are the perfect bold colors for summer. If you don’t like bold, two options are more on the “muted” side: Beige Vintage and Energy Peach. I’m just a teeny bit embarrassed but a whole ton more excited that I have all the colors in my makeup arsenal to pick and choose based on my mood, clothes, and color.

I have just seen on Trendmood instagram that they are actually coming out with additional shades for the fall! I feel very happy with my current collection and look forward to seeing their new color options. Have you tried these? What do you think of them? Let me know! I’ll see you on my next post!
