Sephora Spring VIB Sale Haul 2018!

So I decided I would do a blog post on the things I picked up during the first weekend of the VIBR sale. There were some things I included in my wishlist (which you can read about here) and some that I ended up picking up just for mere interest. I have used some of these items and am happy to provide thoughts on them!

One of the first items on my wishlist that I ended up purchasing was the IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm. This is actually a repurchase for me as I started off by trying a sample of it, then purchasing my first full size tube of this, and now purchasing a second time. I absolutely love this stuff. I really think it does help to hydrate my hair. I blow dry my hair about 4-5 times a week due to exercising early mornings and then getting ready for work. Aside from helping to hydrate, it smells absolutely divine. I’ve gotten compliments on how my hair smells and I know its this. I would totally recommend it if you’re interested in a hydrating balm for your hair.

The second item I ordered in my wishlist was the Pat McGrath MTHRSHP La Vie en Rose eyeshadow palette. I initially purchased Bronze Ambition (I have a full review on this palette here) and was absolutely impressed with it that I ended up getting Platinum Bronze, and patiently waited for the sale to grab this one. I haven’t used it yet, but I have swatched it and was pretty pleased with the swatches. I do want to do an in depth review on this so I will refer to this future blog post when I end up doing one. But for now, just know the swatches have me intrigued!

I wasn’t aware that I was running low on my OUAI Wave Spray but when I saw that I decided to add it to my order. This is one of those items I didn’t know I was enjoying until I was almost out of it – so it is a repurchase. I really like to set my hair with this after I’ve curled it. It does a great job at holding the curl without hardening your hair. Plus it smells great. I purchased the travel size however I feel that I should have just gotten the full size as I have discovered two new ways to style my hair curly and have been doing it almost every weekend. I think I may just purchase the full size during the second week of the sale – I’m not too sure. But it is a great product and I recommend it!

Because I was so impressed with the OUAI wave spray, I decided to buy this All the OUAI Up Kit that I saw in-store. It comes with three travel-size products: Dry Shampoo Foam which I’ve been trying on second-day hair and am still getting used to. I think the first time I tried it, I used too much product and my hair was stiff. The next time I tried it, I used a lot less of the product and it worked out so much better. It took some getting used to since I feel like I’m applying mousse on my hair, but I do enjoy using it. Ive also been enjoying the texturizing hair spray. I like applying this to the roots of my hair so that it doesn’t look flat on second day hair. The third item, Volume Spray worked phenomenally in conjunction with my Briogeo Scalp Revival shampoo. I was able to blow dry and straighten my hair so much faster when using these together. I’m not sure which helped out but both together were amazing!

The last item I purchased was the Sunday Riley the Influencer foundation. After reading all the claims (medium-full coverage, targeted for combo/oily skin, won’t come off even after a workout, etc.) I knew it had to come home with me. However, after trying it out I saw that it separated in my most oily areas, it didn’t really sink into my skin, and oh man was I super oily that day. I also found that it took two pumps to feel medium-full coverage. It’s definitely more like a bb cream. I used my YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer in conjunction with this foundation so I’m not sure if maybe that just isn’t a good combo. I know I should try it again before coming to a conclusion but I did see some small bumps on my forehead that I think may be coming from the foundation. I will try it again, and if I continue to be unhappy with it, I will exchange it during the second round of the VIB sale.

I did redeem two different point perks: for 250 points I got a small bottle of the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume. This is one of my signature scents and I decided to get it because it looked cute. I also redeemed the 100 point DryBar Volume Boosting Root Lifter because for some reason I am totally into haircare right now. I never really save my points since there isn’t anything remarkable – and if there is it usually sells out in seconds. So I was happy with redeeming these things.

What did you pick up during the first round of the sale? Is there anything you’re thinking of getting during the second round? Let me know!

Thanks for reading!
