I’m so excited to share the products I loved and reached for the month of January! I believe I stated in my Insta Stories that I would be shopping my stash quite differently this year. Last year, I forced myself to rotate things after a week, even if I was thoroughly enjoying them. This year, I decided not to rotate things I was truly enjoying so that I could use them as much as I needed before I swapped them out for something different.
Therefore, I can say these are truly things I enjoyed and reached for this month!
The First Aid Beauty Coconut Priming Moisturizer was a primer I reached for practically every day of the month. I love it because it provides a good amount of hydration and adds a nice, subtle glow to the skin. It’s perfect for the cold winter months and it worked great with my NARS Radiant Longwear and Sheer Glow foundations! I use a dime-nickel size amount and it covers my face and neck. If you’re on the market for a hydrating primer, I recommend this one!
I enjoyed two different blush products this month. After shopping my stash, I rediscovered and fell back in love with my Natasha Denona Diamond and Blush palette in Darya. I seldom reached for this in 2018 due to its hefty size, but brought it back out because I didn’t spend so much for it to collect dust. I love the fact that she houses cream products behind a plastic lid so that she can simultaneously have powder products in it. I’m a fan of every shade in here. I’m not sure I’d recommend it since it’s so expensive, but the most beautiful shades in here are now in her new Mini that’s available!
The second blush I loved this month was the Burt’s Bees blush in Toasted Cinnamon. I have Bare Peach which I bought last year and loved it, so after hearing others rave about this shade, I picked it up at CVS. It did not disappoint! I used it in two rotations and it was my primary blush choice both times. It applies beautifully, although you can get a lot of kick up. Using a light hand is best. I definitely recommend this blush!
There were 3 different eyeshadow palettes that I purchased this month that I fell in love with! The first one was the Natasha Denona Mini Nude palette. I was skeptical of this one at first since promo photos made it seem very neutral. However, after seeing others’ swatches, I saw how warm it leaned and couldn’t pass it up. I think this Mini performed way better than her other mini options – the formula just wasn’t her best in the others. However, this one blended nicely, was very pigmented, and lasted! I also love the color scheme!
The second eyeshadow palette I bought this month was the Milani Pure Passion Eyeshadow Palette. This one houses pinks/berries and mauves and since I am a huge fan of the Milani palettes (reviewed here and here) I had to get this one as well. I also wrote a review on this one, so you can read all about Pure Passion here!
The last eyeshadow palette – and my most favorite of all – is the NARS Skin Deep Eyeshadow Palette. I reviewed it here, so I won’t go into a lot of depth. It’s a mostly neutral-cool toned palette and it houses the most beautiful shades! I used it for a Smokey look, subtle look, etc and really enjoyed using it each time. It’s definitely my favorite purchase of 2019 so far!
Lastly, I discovered and rediscovered so many lip products this month! Firstly, I found the Colourpop Hello Stranger lipstick in my Christmas stocking and absolutely enjoyed using it. It was my first time trying the formula and I am a huge fan!
There were so many pinky-nude glosses that I enjoyed using! I either layered them over lipsticks or used them on their own: the Pat McGrath cool and warm nude trios, Dior Lip Maximizer in Holo Pink, and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustres in Portobello Girl and Ibiza Nights were all glosses I reaches for this month.
Okay, I may be cheating a little bit since these are only two weeks new into my collection, but I had to mention them here because I’m truly enjoying them! The L’Oréal Matte High Pigment liquid lipsticks are probably my new favorite liquid lip formula. I think they have the potential to be a bit drying, but only if you wear it for a long period of time.
The formula of these are very thin and liquid-y. If you open it carelessly, it will fly out. It takes some time to settle, but it does not emphasize dry/cracked lips. The two shades I have: I Explore and I Create are beautiful colors! I Create is a perfect pink for my skin tone! I still enjoyed layering glosses over these but they are okay even without. I just felt I had to mention them because I’ve been using them nonstop!
Well, there you have it: my favorite products for the month of January. Seeing them all together here gets me excited all over again! That’s how I know I truly enjoyed them! Lol. What were your favorite products this month?! Let me know!
Thank you for reading!
