Hello all! I’m back from a long hiatus. After having my son about 6 months ago, things got hectic, but here I am again! I wanted to restart my blog with a review and some swatches of the new Colourpop x Disney Frozen II Collection! My friends over at Colourpop were kind enough to gift the Anna collection to me, so I wanted to share my thoughts with you!
The star of the Anna collection is undoubtedly the eyeshadow palette and what I was most excited about!
As per Colourpop:
“Make this palette your right-hand-woman! The warm-toned ColourPop Disney Frozen Anna Pressed Powder Palette features 9 rich shades in matte, metallic, and Pressed Glitter finishes.”
The outer cardboard packaging is absolutely beautiful – decorated to fit the very well loved character, it is their standard 9-pan size and it comes with a mirror which is always a plus! I would have no trouble traveling with this palette since it feels sturdy enough.
The palette offers 5 shades, 1 (Warm Hugs) is a matte that contains shimmer; 3 metallic shades, and 1 pressed glitter (Arendelle). There are many people, myself included, who will not wear the pressed glitter due to being unsafe in the eye area, so just an FYI in case you feel the same.
The shadows are absolutely gorgeous and performed exceptionally well. I had no trouble with any of the matte shades. They tend to blend themselves but do not disappear into each other. The metallic shades were a breeze to use and I enjoyed creating several looks with the palette.
The lipstick offered in this collection, Going North, is described as a creme chestnut. “Enriched with our LUX Blend of hydrating butters, this creamy, long-wearing lipstick glides on the lips with rich pigmentation in a comfy, lightweight formula.”
It is a beautiful warm toned shade that will go perfect with any of the colors you choose to pair it with in the palette. On me, it’s more of a terra-cotta color, but I do not mind it one bit! It’s a creamy formula, so using a lip liner may help to have it last a while longer. I’m a huge fan of their lux lipsticks, so I was pleased with this.
The lipgloss in Free Spirit is described as a “Hi-shine formula creates a see through glassy finish with a sheer tint of color. All shine, no shimmer. Enriched with jojoba oil to moisturize, nourish, and provide a cushiony feel for juicy, fuller-looking lips.”
It is a peachy apricot shade with a brush-type of applicator. While that’s not my favorite type of applicator, I had no issues applying the gloss. It is pigmented enough to wear on its own, or it can be worn on top of a lipstick. I really liked the gloss as well. I’ve been loving using glosses lately so this was an instant winner.
Lastly in the collection is Waterfall, a warm gold glitter with copper accents that is described as “long wearing glitter packed gel paste provides ultra intense sparkle.” This can be used on the hair and body, as per Ulta’s description in the How To Use section of this product. I’ve only swatched it, so I cannot tell you how it performs. I can tell you that it is currently one of the products sold out on Colourpop’s website, so it must be popular!
All in all, this collection was a total winner for me. I subscribed to Disney + the day it launched and Frozen was actually the first movie I chose to watch since I hadn’t seen it before! Shocker, I know! But I fell in love with the darn movie and then this arrived in the mail so I was super excited…
So excited that when this collection arrived to Ulta, I immediately ordered the Elsa version. I cannot wait to review that for you as well!
Did you pick up anything from the collection? It is currently available at both Colourpop and Ulta, and you can buy the pieces individually or in the limited edition boxed set, which saves you $2 and you get the cute box!
